Hi Jennifer! Thanks for giving your bulldog a loving home. Jumping on your back is usually her way of getting attention or showing excitement. It can also happen if she’s feeling nervous or wants comfort. Try to calmly stand up or turn away when she jumps, and praise her when all four paws are on the ground. Teaching her to “sit” or go to her “bed” for treats will help, too.

Since her cherry eye surgery didn’t work, it’s a good idea to ask your vet to check her eyes again—sometimes discomfort can cause clingy behavior.

She was not wanted. She has settled well. She’s had an operation for cherryv
eye which hasnt worked. However over the last couple of weeks she has got into the habit of trying to jump.on my back when I am sitting. What is she trying to tell me or is this normal behaviour.

Comment on 5 Bulldog Potty Training Problems and How to Overcome Them by Frenchieowner https://www.bulldogology.net/bulldog-potty-training/#comment-206703 Fri, 14 Mar 2025 03:42:14 +0000 http://www.bulldogology.net/?p=616395---4a837b79-693e-4790-a583-6c781b4e573b#comment-206703 With frenchies, I wouldn’t say that they will never void in their crate. I have a male frenchie puppy, and put him in a crate twice, with only enough space to really spin himself around and lay, yet he not only urinated, he also let out his bowels and was stepping, and laying in it. This happened twice which required baths and I fear putting him in crates again. I have tested it, for shorter periods of time and found that he would occasionally urinate. For added context. There have been plenty of times I’d bring him outside 15-20 minutes and he would not go, however once we get in he would have an accident. Potty training these breeds is far from easy. I’ve owned an Akita and potty training him was almost effortless.

Hi Tammie! Try a gentle, dog-safe moisturizer or balm with aloe or coconut oil to help soothe her skin. Avoid irritants like harsh shampoos, and check with your vet for the best options. Hope she heals soon!

Preventative care costs less. However, aural hematoma can occur at anytime to almost any breed of dog. Auralsplint.org has led the way for a non-surgical option to treat early onset aural hematoma in dog. It is our business to provide Rx Treatment kits to the industry and to the public through our continued research and study of the treatment and its results. All we do is help heal aural hematoma in dog. Give us a look and see if your vet or yourself would like to use the healing advantages we offer.

Many people think they cannot afford a vet visit. This is horrible. Veterinarians are coming around to be less ‘costly demanding’. If you do not have a Veterinarian, do some research to find one you feel will first attempt non-surgical or non-pharma only remedies. These aural hematoma conservative methods rarely work. Surgery as a last resort is very invasive and requires the pet owner to care for the surgeon’s wounds to your pet for at least 2-3 weeks several times a day. This is too hard on both the animal and the owner and costs are skyrocketing. If your vet will use an aural splint after initial aspiration, then you have found the right one and stick with them. It may take a couple of times to get the desired length of time in place, but the outcome is far better and less costs make it easier to have them help you and your pet.

Hi. What kind of intestinal disease? My dog has been having intestinal issues and we’re going crazy trying to understand what is happening. He add abdominal and chest fluid and almost died, we were told lymphoma. I feel like it’s something emotionally or diet related, especially since they have not found cancer cells in the fluid or the biopsy taken. No vomiting, rare diarrhea… he had a hard change of dog food before the crisis and he didn’t poop in over a week. But he is lethargic and sometimes skips meals which is so rare for him. Any information you can share is greatly appreciated.

Comment on Why Does My Dog Pee on My Bed: 6 Reasons & Possible Solutions by Bulldogology Pet Solutions https://www.bulldogology.net/why-does-my-dog-pee-on-my-bed-2/#comment-189214 Fri, 24 May 2024 10:46:13 +0000 https://www.bulldogology.net/?p=650289---8a2a934a-4b69-4bc1-b219-256ba5ee15f4#comment-189214 In reply to Kabir Riaz.

Hi Kabir, peeing on pillows can be due to territorial marking, anxiety, or a scent attraction. Ensure thorough cleaning of the area to remove any scent traces, provide a designated pee spot, and consider consulting a vet or behaviorist for personalized advice. – Bulldogology Team
