Many people think they cannot afford a vet visit. This is horrible. Veterinarians are coming around to be less ‘costly demanding’. If you do not have a Veterinarian, do some research to find one you feel will first attempt non-surgical or non-pharma only remedies. These aural hematoma conservative methods rarely work. Surgery as a last resort is very invasive and requires the pet owner to care for the surgeon’s wounds to your pet for at least 2-3 weeks several times a day. This is too hard on both the animal and the owner and costs are skyrocketing. If your vet will use an aural splint after initial aspiration, then you have found the right one and stick with them. It may take a couple of times to get the desired length of time in place, but the outcome is far better and less costs make it easier to have them help you and your pet.
