Hi Jennifer! Thanks for giving your bulldog a loving home. Jumping on your back is usually her way of getting attention or showing excitement. It can also happen if she’s feeling nervous or wants comfort. Try to calmly stand up or turn away when she jumps, and praise her when all four paws are on the ground. Teaching her to “sit” or go to her “bed” for treats will help, too.

Since her cherry eye surgery didn’t work, it’s a good idea to ask your vet to check her eyes again—sometimes discomfort can cause clingy behavior.

She was not wanted. She has settled well. She’s had an operation for cherryv
eye which hasnt worked. However over the last couple of weeks she has got into the habit of trying to jump.on my back when I am sitting. What is she trying to tell me or is this normal behaviour.
